It started in 2023, when our founders — a group of expats scattered across four continents — realized they were all solving the same problem every Friday night. One would check Douban for Chinese dramas, another scanned Filmarks for Japanese animation, a third compared Allocine and Rotten Tomatoes for the latest French release. They would then argue in a group chat about what was actually worth watching.

That group chat became a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet became a prototype. And the prototype became CinePulse Global: the world's first cross-regional movie and TV rating aggregator.

Today, we track over 2 million titles across 40+ rating platforms, in 30+ languages, spanning 190+ countries. Our proprietary algorithm accounts for regional biases, sample-size differences, and platform-specific quirks to produce a single, unified CinePulse Score — a number you can trust regardless of where you are in the world.

We are headquartered nowhere and everywhere — a fully remote team of data scientists, cinephiles, and engineers spread across 12 time zones, united by one belief: that every story deserves a fair hearing, and every viewer deserves the full picture.
